ABOUT THE PROJECT

Future of Food: Building sustainable food systems was a 24h food innovation hackathon happening in Riga. The aim was to find new solutions and promising business ideas on how to improve food production, processing, consumption and build a more sustainable future through digitization and technology.

Amongst the partners and co-organisers were The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia, EIT Food Hub Latvia, Riga Technical university Design Factory, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands & RIMI Baltic.

OUR ROLE

We brought the full spectrum - from strategic outline to tactics implementation. Our responsibilities included concept & content development, speaker relations, communication & marketing strategy, partner communications, technical production, attendee management, on-site management, brand & website development.

RESULTS

The hackathon provided a platform to connect over 100 students, food innovators, startup founders, and leading industry experts to brainstorm, build and validate new ideas with the potential to transform the food sector. We managed to reach attendees from 13 different countries from all over Europe (even Saudi Arabia and the UK). Three best teams shared 10 000 EUR prize fund to bring their ideas to life.
