ABOUT THE PROJECT

Student Deep Science Hackathon 2020 invites enthusiasts, engineers, software developers, entrepreneurs, designers with hardware ideas or desire to contribute to high-technology development. The hackathon was a three-day workshop to create and develop innovative ideas in a virtual environment. The goal was to form interdisciplinary teams to develop their ideas together with mentors in a collaborative environment.
Student Deep Science Hackathon 2020 was the fifth hackathon for the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL).

OUR ROLE

Helve helped to reproduce an in-person event in a digital environment. Our responsibilities included technical production, attendee management, and communication strategy.

RESULTS

During two days, all happening online, participants built & shared their creations with experienced mentors' help. The hackathon bought together 40 students from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, India, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, and Uzbekistan.
Students offered hardware solutions to improve day-to-day processes. The most successful teams received support from RTU Design Factory, UL student business incubator, TechChill & Digital Health Cluster to further develop their solutions.
